Blainroe Beach

Blainroe Beach is our greatest asset, a beautiful cove with private access for all Blainroe residents and their guests. There are picnic benches and a shower at the top of the ramp, overlooking the beach.

The right of way to the beach is accessed through Blainroe Golf Club entrance – opposite the Estate entrance.

During peak-season Blainroe Estate and Blainroe Golf Club employ security at the golf club entrance.  Parking in the Golf Club car park is restricted to Golf Club members.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THE FOLLOWING WHEN USING THE BEACH:

  • Wrist bands are issued to all residents for pedestrian access to the beach.  These can be requested by emailing Blainroeestate@outlook.com

  • There is no vehicle access for Blainroe Estate Residents unless they are members of the golf club.

  • No lifeguard on duty.

  • Although the bay is shallow, dangerous currents can occur close to the beach. Be vigilant.

  • All seals in Ireland are protected species. Never approach seals on land; stay at least 30 metres away (and keep dogs at least 50 metres away!).

  • Please take your litter with you when leaving.  (Often, many residents kindly remove litter they may find on the beach or in the water. Thank you!)

  • The path to the beach is steep; please use the handrail provided for your own safety.

DOGS ON THE BEACH:

  • Dogs are not permitted on the beach during the hours of 11am and 6pm

In accordance with Wicklow County Council’s Beach Bye-Laws 2012 ‘Persons in charge of a dog on a beach shall ensure the following:

  • It is on a leash or under adequate control

  • It is not causing annoyance to any person using the beach or worrying, chasing, injuring or disturbing any animals, birds or other creatures on the beach;

  • Removal of its faeces and depositing in a litter bin or other receptacle which may be designated for this purpose.’

Tennis Courts

The estate has four tennis courts, open year-round to residents. Three are hard courts and the fourth is an all-weather surface suitable for basketball, volleyball, badminton, bowls and other sports.

Tennis lessons and competitions for kids, families and adults take place regularly in the summer and occasionally in the off-season. See our Events Calendar for details.

Under normal condition there is no need for bookings however, COVID-19 restriction require advance booking in order to log players for contact tracing.

The Pavilion

The heart of Blainroe social life, The Pavilion is in use year-round from the Summer Season Welcome Evening to the many activities taking place in the winter months. These include:

  • Movie nights
  • Games and Whist nights
  • Table tennis
  • ‘Techie Tuesday’ technology advice evenings
  •  ‘Knit and Stitch’ classes
  • Art classes
  • ‘Fitness League’ exercise classes

During the summer, it is in almost constant use with social events scheduled throughout the season, including:

  • Hog Roast evening
  • Cookery demonstration
  • Wine tasting

…and much more. See our events calendar or consult our news page for details on any of these activities.

Football Pitch

In the paddock we maintain a mown football pitch year-round. It is the venue for evening family competitions in the summer as well as a great place for kids and families to practice and play informally throughout the year. The five-a-side goals are permanently in place.

Walking Routes

Three separate walking routes (‘The Briary,’ ‘The Wavering,’ and ‘Monks’ Glade’ loops) are mapped out on our private roads, designated by colourful markers at regular intervals. Together, they provide a leisurely way to take in the beauty of the entire estate.

Children's Playground

Our extended playground with new safety fencing is a wonderful facility for children up to 12 years. Please observe the posted safety notices. The playground is reserved for use by residents and their guests.
